AN OSTEOPATH IS NOT SOMEONE
WHO HEALS YOU.
AN OSTEOPATH IS SOMEONE WHO
TRIGGERS YOUR OWN
ABILITY TO HEAL.
ABOUT
ME
My name is Rachel de Brouwer. In addition to being an osteopath, I am a proud mother of Lucie and Sieme.

Ever since I was young I have been fascinated by the human body. This started during my first part-time job in the drugstore, because how do all those remedies work and how do customers get their complaints? This interest has now turned into a passion. Even during my osteopathy studies and now that I work as an osteopath, I continue to amaze myself about how sublime the human body is constructed and functions. Every day again. Because that is one of the things that makes our profession so special, the sense of wonder.

After seven years of studying, I graduated at the College Sutherland in Amsterdam with a thesis on the theme "The physiology of emotional trauma in relation to osteopathy" a literature and qualitative research.

ABOUT
OSTEOPATHY
One of the first things I learned in Amsterdam at Sutherland College is: form/structure determines function and vice versa, function determines form/structure. It is logical for most of us that form determines function, but it also works the other way around.
Recently I came across a fallen tree on a path after a storm, the field next to it is full of beautiful flowers and tall grass. Since the path is not an option, "we hikers" look for another way, around the tree. Eh, voilà ! The lawn is used by walkers and a new path is being formed. Because the function changes, the form changes.
This is no different in our body. When for whatever reason a certain path cannot be taken, our body will always look for another way. The so-called compensations. Somewhere there comes a point where there is no longer a field or no other path is possible. Then we are, so to speak, compensated. Then we can do all kinds of tricks to be able to function, or we can look for... the BOOM! The tree that blocks the way and forces us to bend over backwards.

This is what we attempt to do with osteopathy. We will look for movement changes and their origin in the musculoskeletal system, membranes and the skull. And this is exactly why I think I have the best job in the world.
IN THE
PRACTICE
During the first consultation, the complaints will be discussed with you and your medical history will be discussed with you. A physical examination then takes place on the three interdependent systems (musculoskeletal system, internal organs, craniosacral system). Based on the findings from the research, treatment will also follow immediately.
In addition, lifestyle, attitude and nutritional advice can be given. These are to support the treatment and to stimulate the body's self-healing capacity.
The frequency of treatment varies per patient, but in the beginning usually one treatment every 3-4 weeks. The better things go, the more time there is between treatments. A clear difference should be noticeable after three treatments.
Treatments are partly eligible for reimbursement provided you have additional insurance for this.

DUE TO A GREAT BUSY, I WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY NEW PATIENTS UNTIL MID-AUGUST AT LEAST.
If you would like to be put on the waiting list, please send an email or a WhatsApp message.

Reviews
"Rachel uses her stubbornness to treat underlying complaints and with success. I have never felt so much space in my body. And the energy that my body has regained is incredible. I am truly grateful!!"

"Rachel is a friendly, committed and knowledgeable woman who can help you with physical complaints. I came to Rachel due to a significant sprain in my ankle. In addition to treating my ankle, Rachel also treated my complaints (stabbing pain). removal of my gallbladder resolved.
I now like to visit Rachel a few times a year to perform an osteophatic check.
